I visited Iceland in Summer 2014 and spent 12 days driving clockwise around the island, which was enough time to get in and around all of the fjords, but not enough time to explore the dramatic interior.
Even in summer it can be a cold place - especially if there's an Arctic wind blowing through. I found this to be a challenge for taking photographs as it meant having to rug up each time I stepped out of the car! Being at the right place at the right time of day was also a challenge, as I was playing a tourist and photographer role. Next time I'd love to go just for the photography - it's such an amazing place. This was the first time I really focused on landscape photography, which gave me a whole new appreciation for how tough it is to get those amazing shots.
If you'd like to come on a photo tour with me to Iceland please let me know.
